I don’t know about you, but I feel amazing when I put some effort into my hair. Give a girl some mascara and the perfect messy bun, and she can conquer the world!

Braids, accessories and hats are my favorite ways to dress up any outfit. I’m currently gravitating towards a few items that I’ll list below. I’ve heard the scrunchie is making a comeback… there’s a lot of 90’s inspo out there right now!

Here are a few of the items and accessories in my hair arsenal!

• Hair cuffs – Technically, these are for dreadlocks and braids, but I use them many different ways! I’m a huge fan of braiding the sides of my hair and pulling it back, so these gold and silver cuffs add some sparkle. They are pretty cute and easy to use!
• Metal ponytail holders – Once I started using these, I became a bit obsessed. My favorite way to use is to do a regular high ponytail, then I use the band attached to the metal holder, and then I clamp that around the bands. SO. CUTE. It’s that extra polished touch! Obsessed. It’s a very retro look but so fun.
• Hair donut/bun-maker – Clearly I’m never sure what to call this! It’s a piece of mesh shaped like a donut that goes over your ponytail to create the perfect bun! There are several different methods, and they vary depending on your hair length/thickness/preference! You can also use the sock bun method, but this one is less obvious if it shows through!
• Small rubber hair elastics – Ok. If I had to pick just one accessory to use, it would be these. They might even outweigh bobby pins (GASP). I love these for braids, securing hair for the perfect top-knot… they are just my fave. If you have blonde hair, you can use clear; I use the black ones as they blend in better with my darker hued hair!
